whoa time really flies! today's already friday, another Friday Night Owl to catch hah.

the malaysian trip was a nice getaway even though we were ALMOST robbed. long story. anyways, we went to Fraser's Hill and then to KL. The ride up and down Fraser's Hill was pretty scary cause there were mini landslides and fallen trees blocked most part of the super-narrow road. service and food served at the hotel sucked big time. there were tiny white insects struggling in my cup of tea. damn gross. the only good thing about the whole place was just its cold climate.

reading about Hassan Sunny(he's a national footballer in case you didn't know) reminded me of something. as you know our fathers share the same name(well almost). once in a while, we get fanmail, upon which we as a family shamelessly & without hesitation rip the envelope apart to read it, only to have a good laugh and then we tear it up into half and unceremoniously throw it into the rubbish bin. a bit evil of us, but its fun. candice don't tell your friend ah! haha. and we get voice messages on our phone especially during the festive period which can be quite irritating and amusing at the same time.

yesterday was crazyyy. all because my sister was collecting her Olevel results. she was freaking out, mum was freaking out, dad was freaking out, i was freaking out, yeah you get the picture. and then the whole world starts calling our house at around 2.30pm asking how did she do how did she do??? omygod so kaypoh. now i know what to expect when Alevel results are out.

my sister did alright btw. okay enough to get into a decent course in poly i guess. my mum cried lah! only because she was really really really happy. we were expecting the worse but it all turned out fine alhamdulillah. we spent the entire night pouring over her options. my sister wants to take early childhood in NP but my father was dead against it, saying that there's no future in it and that she should more pragmatic take up something that will ensure you better chances to earn more MONEY. realists, urgh.

watched Babel with Khairiah today and it was one of those rare times that i stepped out of the theatre feeling that the movie was worth every cent despite having being left with a few questions in my head, and also the ultra graphic nudity which i wasn't really expecting but i should have cause it has an M18 rating. i didn't dig the whole flash-your-privates-to-random-guys by that Chieko did. actually i didn't dig a lot of the things she did. that character has deep issues. other than that, the interweaving stories were nicely, err, interweaved and the way that the film messed up the timeline of the stories was certainly satisfying. go watch it, unless you're the chick flick kinda person :p

i didn't realise it but february is already here. my sister says Olevel results will be out this friday. you know what that means don't you... jeng jeng jeng.

anywayss, had the chance to read some old issues of Shape magazine. it's pretty good.. and oh that mjc pe teacher lim ling min was also featured in one of its issues, but the lim ling min in real life and lim ling min in the magazine looks pretty different.

okay everyone!! here's something i read in Shape. take a look at your fingers. no seriously take a look! if your ring finger is shorter than your index finger, you're probably a bad driver. you know, finally after years of waiting, we can finally get away on a family vacation during CNY! totally not possible on previous occasions cause of my dad's and sister's work commitments. incredibly excited!! although it's only to Malaysia but who cares ;)

met up with old PW mates whom i've not seen for a year. it was strange yet familiar hearing their voices. had a not-so-tasty lunch at Samar and then later took neoprints at Bugis. they're all waiting for me to scan and send the pics to them but i'm too lazy. another day perhaps.

met up with the floorballers on friday night for dinner in bugis and then cabbed down to clarke quay to chat. spent a hell lot of time just to look for a place to sit and get drinks and yeah ended up paying $7(!!!!) for a Sprite drink. i'm not going back there anytime soon, so pointless when i can't actually drink alcohol. basically conversations revolved around job experiences and in between, Candice and I couldn't help gloating over the fact that we're still paying student's fare. yahooo!

and then today, big celebration at nenek's house for my grandparents' wedding anniversary. the person who was the centre of attention today was definitely our little-est cousin Aqil.

family gatherings are nice, especially if you hardly see them. the rate at which my grandmother's memory is failing is freaking me out. it's just short-term memory loss for now. she kept asking for my younger sister, who wasn't around cause she was working. she then kept asking for my uncle, who's actually studying in Sydney now, and when we told her that he's in Australia, she'd be quite shocked cause she really thinks that he's still in Singapore. breaks my heart every single time she does that. must try to see her more often, before she starts to forget who i am.

i think i should probably mention that i've since left that job at venezia. a couple of reasons lah, like i have to handle pork(a big NO NO for a muslim like me), the pay's quite bad and cannot take leave. yeap so i'm back to square one. lucky my parents are quite supportive so no pressure to get one asap although i do want extra cash to go shopping. who doesn't right?

the flu's gone from me but i'm still coughing badly. in between the coughs i've been thinking a lot of what course i want to take up if my grades allow me entry into a local uni, and also what's my next step if somehow i can't make it. seems like many have made up their mind and they're so sure of what they want in life. how i envy them. i used to be one of them, dreaming of the day i become a doctor. it all sounds so silly to me right now.. i've deluded myself for the longest time so its time to get back to reality. i'm trying to gather all my options to make a decision and also trying to help my little sister choose the right poly course. all the best to us then..

i spent the new year's eve countdown at the airport transit area where i'm working now. it was such an interesting experience cause at the stroke of midnight, you hear the foreigners shout "Happy New Year!!" and you see couples(foreign ones) embracing each other and kissing. so sweet..

am down with the flu and fever, cause my darling sister passed the bug to me. slept a lot today. bad timing cause i've only worked for a day and now i've missed work today and i'm not going tomorrow. customers won't like me spraying my mucus on their gelato and coffee. there are soo many things to learn! i've mastered some.. though i still can't make caffe latte, cappucino, milkshake and some other stuff. first day at work was alright overall, though there was this singaporean airport staff who gave me a really hard time because i messed up a bit with the super high-tech cashier machine thing. i wanted nothing more than to slap her face. would it kill her to be a little nicer?

been out every other day so i stayed home today. bad move! bored out of my mind. i even logged into loserish friendster today after more than a year of neglecting it and uploaded a bunch of photos. i really should've taken up my sister's offer to go to Jurong Bird Park with her and her boyfriend.

watched the hindi movie Baabul yesterday with khairiah, who seems to be the only one willing to watch one with me. hindi movies fun you know! but Baabul was a tad bit boring although it did make me cry for a whole good hour cause Salman Khan died. and Amitabh Bachan(sp?) is quite a multi-talented person. he created and sang the theme song. he sounds quite good actually.

had a super bad morning today as i headed to my the cargo complex area there thinking that that was the place i supposed to make my airport pass. that was when hell began as i ran into problems after problems. no one was of much help, i even got scolded by 2 police officers can. the place is a restricted area so security's pretty tight. anyway seeing the place that i'll have to work in for the next few months, i began to think twice about it. the people working there are definitely not in the same age group as me. forget it. i'm turning down the job.

met up with eug, Lex, Leon and wenze for lunch at seoul garden! it lifted my spirits i guess. hanging around them is always great fun. leon's booking in tomorrow!!! and then it's Lex's turn on my birthday. yeap that's right, my birthday. sigh. but i somewhat agree with what eug said to me today. as you grow older, birthdays become more meaningless.

i'm turning 19! i really don't think i look the part.

i'm in so much pain! my whole body is aching like crazy. this is what you get when you play floorball after 6months of complete non-physical exertion. i'm wincing at each movement i make. i've no stamina to speak of i swear! couldn't help walking around the court almost the whole time we played against the J1s bleargh.

went to Kelly Services with CC and candice just yesterday and TODAY i got a call for a job interview at some super ulu location at changi south. i had to walk really far all by myself and it was raining. i got lost too which was a little traumatising. and so, i got there, got the job(no interview needed surprisingly, bit fishy. need to find out more). the job i got is somewhere at airport cargo road. gotta make my airport pass tomorrow... this is all so new to me. quite apprehensive about it, especially when i'm all alone in this job. i'm praying reallly hard that CC gets the same job as me.

planning for outings with friends is still as troublesome as ever. endless smses, indecisiveness on everyone's part and also trying to keep in mind everybody's interests. meeting the R Group tomorrow ;) before Leon and Alex enters the NS world.

5th december was quite memorable for me. 1st prom i've ever been to, 1st time clubbing at MOS, 1st overnight at Aloha Loyang chalet, and 1st time waking up to Cecilia next to me haha. prom was most boring lah really. i didn't even take more than 10photos which is really weird. we left almost immediately to go MOS and the experience there was quite.. an eye-opener. it was kinda fun i have to admit but i'm not going back there anytime soon i think.

our chalet's a terrace(named eugenia. i'm not kidding!) with 4 bedrooms, each with an attached bathroom. damn spacious i tell you.. it felt weird walking in slippers all around the place instead of being barefooted.

finding a job is definitely harder than i thought. all the odds are stacked against me. i can't speak or write Mandarin, i know peanuts on usage of MS Excel and absolutely zero job experience. i'm not expecting much of a response from RecruitExpress. they want people who are effectively bilingual in English and Mandarin so that lady gave Jashan and I a funny look; a look that had what the heck are you doing here written all over. whatever man. and since when did this country become China anyway?? i'm extremely annoyed can you tell? really reallly hoping that the paragon people will give me the job asap.

met up with my bestest friend Net for my maiden trip to Vivo. its just a really big and confusing place. coincidentally Hady and Jonathan Leong was there!!!!! awesome. there was a moment Jonathan and i gazed(haha. it was a 2 sec thing) into each other's eyes and i simply vapourized. yes i know i'm exaggerating but he was simply electrifying! best store in Vivo has got to be that bookstore Page One. how wonderful it would be to get a temporary job there... surrounded by wonderful books. speaking of books, i finally read My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult. it was so engaging i couldn't stop reading once i started and i cried buckets at the ending. you just have to read it guys. awesome stuff.

and of course, highlight of the day was catching up with Net. turns out she's going to Hong Kong too! i think i am too. right candice?

bought a super nice looking file to keep all my certificates and stuff. i'm the only one i know who doesnt keep the important certs properly and i'm paying the price for it now. i can't find my PSLE cert!

eug's new pet white tiger Omar. speaking of white tigers, they are so awesomely beautiful. and did you know that all white tigers came from one ancestor? it was named Mohan. he was caught in the 1950s by a Maharajah in India and lived in the palace for the rest of his life.

my favourite picture of the day! both of them were so cute imitating each other's actions. you're going to be a cool dad one day leon.

anyways, it was quite sickening to see the polar bears with algae growth on their backs even though their trainer assured us that the algae growth is only limited to its fur and totally doesn't affect the well-being of the polar bears. but still, its so unnatural. and their enclosure wasn't even air-conditioned tsk. i'm glad they'll be moved out of the zoo soon.

the australian outback section of the zoo was also quite a sad thing to see cause there was an emu which is blind in one eye and a kangaroo which couldn't hop properly anymore. according to the keeper, both were caused by the visitors themselves. in the emu's case, he was poked in the eye and thus became blind. in the kangaroo's case, he was chased around by a visitor( its possible cause the place was sort of a free-roaming enclosure) and then the kangaroo got into a serious accident where a metal pole went right through his leg and it hasn't been able to hop around normally since then. seriously man. seriously. what the hell is wrong with these people?! urgh.

tomorrow's going to be a great day just wait and see. gosh. so many things to do now that alevels are over. the more i think about it the more excited i am. books to read, movies to watch, kites to fly(yeah i'm serious), loads of catching up to do with good old friends, get a job, go swimming, floorball, SHOPPING. shopping!! i still haven't found my prom dress, all the more making me not want to go. is anyone interested in buying my ticket?

yah! i feel like i've been sitting for alevels for years cause it's almost been a month and stillll not over! i wanna tear my hair out everytime i think about it. as for bio paper 3 today, it sucked. artificial propagation and seed dormancy was tested! i was reallyreally banking on role of hormones in pregnancy, birth, lactation blah blah basically the 2 last option topics. yeah alex it's really fated man. i got reminded of your little prophecy you made this morning in the canteen when i saw the essay questions.

i am so super glad that this week's coming to a close. One heck of a week i tell you -Bio Paper 2, Maths Paper 1 followed by Chem Paper 3 and just hours ago Maths Paper 2. all the heavyweight ones. i've never been so scared in my life.

my fate for maths has been sealed phew~ . lets not worry too much about it now. i think its only wise that we move on, not dwell on things that can't be undone and focus on things that you can still make a difference in. like Chem and Bio. it's not too late. i WILL persevere for this last lap.

hello world.. it's been such a bad week all because of the prelim results. one word for it - DISASTROUS. exceptionally painful was the chem and bio results. my 2 pet subjects lah! my bad results prompted a lot of "What happened???" from tutors and friends and all the more i felt shattered and angry at myself. just when i thought of giving up, i heard the most encouraging of words from a stranger in the bus. the words weren't meant for me of course but i couldn't help listening. i'll save this story for another day.. but if i do do well for the Alevels i have this guy to thank for for saving me. haha a bit melodramatic but yeah..

among other things, all my SeaMonkeys have died over the prelims period. my dad and i are a little sad since we're the only ones in the house who really cared for them. cause of death i suspect is overfeeding. my bad :x. hoping like crazy that the other eggs will hatch soon.

went to Geylang yesterday for a little bit of Hari Raya shopping with mum. is it just me or have the prices of all the baju kurung become much higher? just to get a decent-looking one it costs at least $140 and some people think nothing of getting 6-7 baju kurungs every year. speaking of Hari Raya, won't have much of a celebration this year. must study study study! fasting begins this sunday. must eat some cheese fries before that.

i am back!! after approximately 2weeks of NOT touching the computer. truly amazing, by my own standards. not that i was deliberately trying not to switch on the computer but with the prelims and all. life's been hectic to say the least.

well technically prelims are not over yet for me. bio paper 1 is on friday. why why whyyy do bio people always end last? but its not too bad, bio paper 1 is almost a joy to do. can't say the same for the other papers for other subjects. mixed feelings.

life's been a bit boring until yesterday. finally, we had the floorball farewell BBQ. and what a farewell it wasn't heehaw.

the video we made you people watch at Jo's house was supposed to induce some seriouss waterworks(!!) but hurhur i didn't realise it was actually quite hilarious with all the stupid pics we took. erm yeah i thought it would have been cooler if you teachers actually cried while saying stuffs to us. i mean, that would have made us cried too and it would have been wonderful. crying's good! in this case lah.

i knew this was a recipe for disaster when i saw that all the guys were cooking the food. its like bbq bbq bbq then straight it goes into their mouth. hmm oklah with one exception, Leon, the only one who bothered to give us food :)

yes we were THAT hungry. great expression candice! you should do it more often in front of me. i could do with some laughs.

i love us really. a lot a lot. even more than my favourite Korean show. which is more than you can imagine.

ayesha's still the ayesha we knew her as back in sec school. seeing her as someone's wife is still something i'm coming to terms with. i saw her husband and then it sank into me that it was very real. watched her wedding video and stuff. yikes ayesha's married and its still making me go ohmygoodness. in any case, i just hope that their union will be blissful and that ayesha would be able to juggle school and marriage.

oh yeah and Najuma's on her way to becoming a tamil teacher while Raj is still Raj although becoming a more regular clubber and Nettie is a budding engineer. oh no we're growing up!

and so out of curiosity i made my maiden visit with a friend to the annual Library Book Sale.

one word to describe it. horrible.

firstly, nobody was allowed to enter the hall just like that. we had to queue up and the queues were unbelievably long (see picture). actually much longer than what you see here. once again, i would have definitely changed my mind and left that place if not for the fact that my friend was there with me.

secondly, it was so so so, so packed and of course excessive human contact was inevitable. i was being 'molested' like everywhere i tell you. never been touched by so many strangers before. and then there was the claustrophobia monster in me. felt like screaming at people to move away.

thirdly, it definitely wasn't worth the long wait to enter the hall and all the shoves, pushes and elbowing i suffered. the books they put out were totally disappointing. we left the hall within half an hour. as we left expo i couldn't help feeling sorry for the people who just entered and were heading there. not worth it people.

My Super Ex-Girlfriend was so....sexual haha. but refreshing nonetheless.

things are going very wrong with my Sea Monkeys. i've put in the eggs but none have hatched! seriously damn disappointed. i don't remember running into so many problems the last time i reared Sea Monkeys back in primary school. why oh why.

erm yes! i'm back. in case you were wondering, i deleted my entire blog a few days ago.. i don't know lah, a lot of things were on my mind. even depressed perhaps. glad to say that i feel loads better. come to think of it, it was quite rash on my part to suddenly delete away around 400 entries of mine. 400 leh! all containing memories and thoughts over the past 2 years. it's a pity but i don't really feel it. actually it feels good to erase the past and start anew.

been feeling better and happier so i decided to re-open my blog for my faithful readers(hahaHA).

on friday, i went to that popular sale at expo with some classmates. ohmy never have i queued up for an hour just to make my purchases. crazy shit. i would have just walked out empty-handed if not for ils, zz and shaz. yayy still feeling excited over the things i bought. hmm hmm buying stationaries is really quite therapeutic. i love..
